ECOWAY Technology’s self-developed biomimetic automotive coating technology has made a stunning impression at the 124th Concours Lépine International Invention Exhibition in Paris, winning three silver medals and showcasing Taiwan’s competitiveness in materials science and surface engineering.

This year, ECOWAY Technology unveiled its innovative water-repellent coating technology. Inspired by the “lotus leaf effect,” the coating integrates aerospace-grade materials with polysilazane and high-performance fluorine bonding. The result is a quartz-glass-like layer that boasts excellent water repellency, high hardness, and superior stain resistance. It effectively protects vehicle paint from UV rays and acid rain while maintaining gloss and durability.

The Concours Lépine, first held in 1929, is the oldest and largest invention competition in the world. It runs alongside the Paris International Fair and attracts over 500,000 visitors annually. With over 250 patent innovations on display this year, ECOWAY Technology’s biomimetic automotive coating became a highlight of the Taiwan Pavilion, drawing widespread interest and ultimately securing three silver medals—a major achievement for the Taiwanese delegation.

ECOWAY Technology stated that this recognition not only affirms their depth in biomimetic science and automotive surface materials but also elevates the global image of the “MIT” brand and Taiwan’s automotive industry. The company will continue advancing its fusion of biomimicry and coating science, developing premium products that combine functionality and aesthetics for the international market.
